Witch Dictionary is a reference library for the language of witchcraft, magic, symbolism, ritual, and esoteric study.
This site was created for readers who want clear definitions without unnecessary embellishment. Each entry focuses on a single word, phrase, symbol, tool, practice, or concept, offering its meaning, context, and common associations within witchcraft and magical traditions.
Whether the term is ancient, modern, practical, symbolic, ceremonial, seasonal, lunar, botanical, divinatory, or occult, the purpose remains the same: to define the word with clarity.
What You Will Find Here
Witch Dictionary is designed as a structured glossary for study, reference, and interpretation. Entries may include:
- The definition of a witchcraft or magical term
- Its common use within spiritual or occult practice
- Symbolic meanings and associations
- Historical or traditional context when relevant
- Related terms for further study
- Clarification between similar concepts
This site is not intended to prescribe one single way of practicing witchcraft. Instead, it serves as a reference point for understanding the language used across magical, folk, spiritual, and esoteric traditions.
A Dictionary for the Language of the Craft
Words carry power in magical practice. They name the unseen, organize the symbolic, and give structure to ritual, belief, and study.
Witch Dictionary exists to make those words easier to understand.
Each entry is written to be direct, useful, and focused. The goal is not to make witchcraft more complicated, but to provide a reliable place to look up terms as they appear in books, rituals, correspondences, traditions, and personal research.
About the Author
Witch Dictionary is written by a practicing witch with nearly a decade of experience in magical and spiritual study. I am a mother of two, a dog mom, and Reiki III certified.
My own practice is especially rooted in lunar magic, information gathering, seasonal living, and the Wheel of the Year. These areas shape the way I approach witchcraft as a living system of language, rhythm, symbolism, and study.
Through Witch Dictionary, my aim is to create a clear and organized reference for the terms that appear throughout witchcraft, magic, and esoteric practice.
